This rare rosette-like crystal spray of Volborthite comes from a singular discovery at the Milpillas mine, Cuitaca, Mexico in about 2014. Usually, Volborthite only occurs as smears on rock, or single small platy crystals, making this find truly exceptional. Off-matrix, this delightful cluster of very lustrous dark olive green crystals of Volborthite is extremely fine. It is not fully formed, presenting just over half of the rosette, but is nevertheless extremely fine for the species and there is no damage to the crystal surfaces.
