Like a delicate green flower, this single, thumbnail-sized rosette of glossy, dark olive green platy Volborthite crystals is from the famous find in 2014/2015 at the Milpillas mine, Mexico. This find, reportedly on Level 26, introduced the world to an entirely new level of quality for a rare species formerly known only in microcrystals. One or two pockets, bearing just a few dozen high quality crystals were found, but nothing in the intervening decade since. Measuring 1.4 cm in diameter, this beautiful rosette is perched on a tiny piece of white matrix. A world-class Volborthite from this unique find.
