This small miniature Vesuvianite from Jeffrey mine at Asbestos in Qu'bec, Canada, is a stunning example of the violet form from this most famous of localities. This off-matrix specimen is composed entirely of intergrown lustrous Vesuvianite crystals of the most intense blackberry-violet, a colour regarded very highly amongst collectors. The largest crystal is 1.3 cm long and many are about 1 cm. The larger crystals are translucent, but as they diminish in size, they become more transparent with some becoming gemmy. A choice lilac Vesuvianite from Jeffrey mine.
