Vayrynenite is an exceedingly rare manganese-beryllium phosphate and this 3.9 cm tall, perfectly terminated crystal, is a wonderful example of the species. From Shengus in the Haramosh Mountains of Skardu, Pakistan, this off matrix translucent crystal is mottled candy to coral pink and contains occasional wispy and patchy black inclusions, although these are sparse. The crystal has a steep-sided, asymmetric termination and is mounted vertically on a small bevelled clear acrylic base. Specimens of any form of Vayrynenite are uncommon to say the least, but a crystal such as this is exceptional.
