A stunning and wonderful specimen of the very rare Mn-Be phosphate Väyrynenite from the complex granitic pegmatites at Shengus in the Haramosh Mountains of Pakistan. This ex-matrix thumbnail specimen is composed of many translucent pinkish carmine-red acicular crystals that grow outwards from a 1.8 x 1.2 x 0.5 cm crystal of similar colour. Two delicate and perfectly terminated 1.4 cm long acicular V'yrynenite crystals branch out from one side. The whole specimen has a patchy sooty black patina, mainly confined to any micro-concave features in the crystal faces. A first class, well crystallised example of this extremely rare phosphate form Pakistan.
