Uralite, named for the Urals Region of Russia, is the name given to pseudomorphs of the Amphibole Group and this well crystallized/pseudomorphed example is from Calumet mine in the Turret District of Chaffee County, Colorado, USA. Blocky tabular Actinolite pseudomorphs after Diopside, form whitish sage green crystals covering the surface of a granular pale sage green matrix. Low magnification reveals several 1 mm clusters of a bright apple green Diopside dotted over the pseudomorphs.
