A lovely stubby thumbnail of terminated Tourmaline from San Diego County in California, USA. It is probably from the Himalaya mine but this information has not been recorded with the specimen. The prism forms a curved sided equilateral triangle in cross section, characteristic of Tourmaline and measures 1.6 cm tall with vertically striated sides and a slight cured and undulating pinacoid termination. The prism is a uniform translucent bright cerise pink and scattered across its faces and part of the termination are small books of light lavender-pink Lepidolite mica.
