Tourmaline never fails to please and this elegant, ex-matrix single crystal is a delight. At 6 cm tall and mounted vertically on a clear acrylic stand, the crystal starts (at its base) as an almost circular cross-section but terminates as a branched, yet still attached, 'V'. The colour is striking. Close to its root, a central delicate pink core is sheathed by a film of spring leaf-green Tourmaline. This grades to a vibrant, almost metallic lime-green which imperceptibly merges to pale fuchsia-pink within the last 4 mm of the termination. A gorgeously coloured and developed Tourmaline from the Gilgit District of Pakistan.
