A beautiful, gem clear Topaz crystal projects out from a matrix of white Cleavelandite, the bladed variety of Albite, from the rare location of the Little Three mine near to Ramona in San Diego County, California, USA. This small mine worked a pegmatite for gemstones and mineral specimens and is recognised as one of the best localities for blue Topaz in North America. This fine pale blue Topaz crystal, measuring to 2.9 cm tall, displays aesthetically against the matrix and is mainly gemmy with perfectly developed prism faces and an excellent termination. It is a splendid example from this quite unique and rarely encountered locality in California.
