Almost certainty an old-time specimen, this miniature Topaz and Smoky Quartz from the famous Murzinka mine (Mursinsk) in Sverdlovskaya Oblast', Middle Urals, Russia is not without a few flaws, but is a quality classic. The doubly-terminated colourless Topaz crystal reaches 2.8 cm in length and is freestanding for more than half of its length, with a fine, gemmy, brown, terminated Smoky Quartz crystal angling out from behind the Topaz. The main (upper) termination of the Topaz crystal is a classic wedge-shape with just very minor bruising down one edge, but its termination is free from damage. The overall crystal has internal fracture planes showing, but is intact and has a narrower lower bladed termination. A fine miniature Russian classic.
