Brazil is world renowned for its wonderful Topaz specimens - be it the magnificent sherry coloured Imperial Topaz prisms, huge pale blue wedge-shaped crystals, or crystal clear colourless forms. There are many famous localities but Teófilo Otoni in Mucuri Valley, Minas Gerais is certainly one of the best known. That is where this impressive cabinet-sized colourless crystal heralds from. It has a really interesting form - one which is certainly not your 'typical' Topaz crystal shape, but is surrounded in many very sharp and glossy smooth faces. It is quite possibly a composite of several large crystals, or maybe a twin, and internally there are orange inclusions which are made more prominent due to its extremely glassy colourless appearance.
