A great Tetrahedrite with Chalcopyrite from the world-famous Herodsfoot mine at Lanreath near Liskeard in Cornwall. Herodsfoot is synonymous with bournonite cog wheel ore, but it's well crystallised Tetrahedrite, Chalcopyrite and Galena are also greatly prized. This specimen has many well-formed Tetrahedrite crystals to 1.7 cm coated with Chalcopyrite is shades of iridescent bronze and peacock red and blue. The crystals sit on opaque milky-white Quartz and are surrounded by many complexly crystallised dull lead grey Galena crystals to 7 mm diameter.
