Somewhat of a hidden species compared with the likes of Vanadinite, Erythrite, Roselite and Wendwilsonite, but Talmessite from Morocco is without doubt the world's best. This cabinet-sized specimen from Bou Azzer ably demonstrates this point, making for an absolutely stunning rich and large crystallized display, with a richly saturated colour too. As a hydrated calcium magnesium arsenate its natural colour is colourless, but with the addition of traces of cobalt the brownish-pink colour prevails. The Talmessite crystals are 1 to 1.5 mm in size, but completely encrust the surface of Calcite veinstone. There is absolutely no damage to this extensive 9 x 6 cm area, making for an extremely important high quality specimen of this very rare species.
