Svanbergite is an unusual strontium aluminium phosphate sulphate hydrate rarely known in good crystals. Brumado in Bahia, Brazil, is one of the premier world localities for this species. Here we have a lovely miniature specimen from Brumado, displaying a cluster of large, white, well-formed rhombic Magnesite crystals (up to over 1.5 cm across) upon which sits a single orange rhombic crystal of Svanbergite. The Svanbergite crystal is perfectly formed, about 5 to 6 mm across, and stands out well against the contrasting white Magnesite. The specimen is mounted on an acrylic base for display. A great example of this rare species.
