The lead tungstate, Stolzite, forms a solid solution series with wulfenite, a lead molybdate and is one of the iconic minerals from the Broken Hill mining district in New South Wales, Australia. This rich miniature is from the Broken Hill Proprietary mine which sits right in the centre of the city of Broken Hill and one of the principle mines of the line-of-lode, the original line of the orebody's outcrop. Acidic lemon yellow blades of Stolzite are richly scattered over the display face of a matt, sooty black Goethite encrusted limonitic gossan matrix. A choice miniature addition to any Broken Hill collection.
