A vuggy undulating surface of Quartz veinstone matrix is completely lined with small but perfect, sub-3 mm Stilbite crystals from the St. Andreasberg mining district in the Harz mountains of Lower Saxony, Germany. Stilbite is a member of the Zeolite Group and this particular specimen is likely Stilbite-Ca, although this is unconfirmed. The Stilbite forms translucent, glassy, colourless to milky-grey-white Roman sword-shaped crystals and towards one side, these appear opaque white due to a thin surface coating of another mineral.
