This beautiful display specimen of Kunzite - the pink variety of Spodumene - is made by its combination with a perfect terminated stocky Quartz crystal. The Quartz crystal is colourless, but frosted on several of its faces, but the main pyramidal face through which the Kunzite protrudes is quite glassy and reflective. The bladed Kunzite crystal measures 8.1 cm in length and is perfectly terminated with two, stepped, wedge-shaped terminations. The crystal has a lovely pale bubble-gum pink colour with a lovely silky lustre and fine translucency and classic vertical growth-lines/striations. Another partial section of pink Kunzite has grown at an angle close to the base of the specimen. A wonderful large display Spodumene, of the gem variety Kunzite, from Afghanistan. It stands naturally upright for display, but also comes with a custom Sunnywood base. Ex Jesse Fisher and Joan Kureczka Coll.
