Neudorf in the Harz mountains, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany is world famous for its exceptional historic Galena crystals, but also its magnificent rhombic Siderite crystals too. Specimens of both grace all of the great old 19th century European museum collections as they were some of the world's best. This beautiful cabinet-sized display specimen does not feature Galena, but presents exceptional translucent fudge-coloured rhombic Siderite crystals on Quartz with lustrous black Sphalerite crystals too. The Siderite crystals reach 7 mm on edge and many are spaced out on the Quartz matrix as perfect individual rhombic crystals with very bright lustre. As world Siderites go, this is a very pretty one, with the added benefit of being a European classic.
