This is a rare specimen of crystallized sulphides from Rosas mine in southern Sardinia, but a beautiful one at that. In fact, it is rare to see any specimen from this mine - even Rosasite for which it is the Type Locality. Large miniature in size, it features a quite large (over 2.6 cm across), and nicely formed cubo-octahedral Galena crystal with other smaller crystals alongside a fine large Sphalerite crystal. The back of the specimen is rough, where it was removed from matrix, but the front display faces are all pristine, making for a wonderful display. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
