About six intergrown translucent, deep golden-tan Sphalerite crystals to 1.5 cm across sit on a flat plate of tightly packed medium grained grey sandstone. The largest crystal measures approximately 1.5 x 1.4 x 0.7 cm and all crystals have a slightly greasy yet semi-reflective lustre. A little creamy-white Baryte is also present. This is a most unusual and attractive Sphalerite from the ancient Dzhezkazgan mining district in the Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan.
