Platy, green tinted indigo-blue Spangolite crystals dispersed with acicular chrome-green Brochantite crystals entirely cover the top surface of a creamy-tan limestone matrix. This rich specimen is from the Mex-Tex mine at Bingham, New Mexico, USA, an old lead mine. Both the Spangolite and Brochantite are translucent with a bright glassy lustre. There is a little bruising, apparent where the colour becomes slightly lighter, although this is likely to be points of contact within the in-situ mineralised joint plane. A rich example of these two species from New Mexico, complete with a previous British dealer's label.
