At over 9 cm in length and quite stocky, this beautifully terminated individual brown Smoky Quartz crystal from Poland is in extremely fine condition. It comes from one of the granite quarries neighbouring Czernica, near Gmina Dobromierz, in Świdnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship. There, miarolitic cavities within pegmatites in the granite sometimes contain excellent Quartz crystals. As is typical, this crystal is opaque and frosted near its base but passes upwards from almost milky-white through translucent greyish brown and into a gemmy, glassy, brown pyramidal termination which has no damage whatsoever. This crystal sits naturally for display sloping at an angle of around 30 to 40 degrees from horizontal. All six of its sloping faces up to its termination are complete and undamaged but several of its prism sides are incomplete lower down, where it was previously attached to matrix in the cavity it was extracted from. It presents really well for a Polish Quartz.
