There are many forms and colours of Smithsonite that occur at Tsumeb mine. This small cabinet specimen displays a rich, dense aggregate of curved, rounded crystal aggregates of a pale pink colour. The crystals are composed of many smaller crystals that give the impression of something akin to fish-scales. The crystals show the classic, greasy lustre of Smithsonite with patches of orange, iron-rich inclusions. A lovely example of Smithsonite from Tsumeb mine, possibly slightly cobalt-rich based on the colour. From John Schneider's famous Tsumeb collection.
