This small cabinet specimen is rich in Skutterudite crystals. It is from Weißer Hirsch mine at Neustädtel in the Schneeberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. This is a famous old mine that hosts cobalt-nickel-bismuth-uranium-arsenic mineralization and is now a mining museum. Specimens of Skutterudite from there are rarely seen for sale and this is a fine example. It is not perfect, with some damaged crystals, but many crystals are very shapely, representing complex modified cubes, many to 5 or 6 mm in size.
