A fine druse of colourless-white Carbonate-rich Fluorapatite, variety Francolite, covers milky-white pyramidal Quartz crystals with later lenticular clove brown Siderite crystals measuring to 1.9 cm. From Fowey Consols at Tywardreath in Cornwall, the dark clove brown Siderite is selectively coated in glassy micro-crystals of Francolite which form as feathered hexagonal barrels. The Francolite forms rich druses of very tiny crystals whose morphology can only be seen under low magnification. A great small cabinet specimen from Fowey Consols, an amalgamation of numerous smaller mines which worked a rich copper deposit also rich in bismuth, cobalt, nickel and uranium.
