The Schlema mines in Saxony were very rich producers of both silver and uranium ores and as a by-product they produced a large amount of mineral specimens, both the ore minerals and accompanying 'gangue' minerals such as this small cabinet specimen. It is tough to find a small, nice specimen of this find and this specimen is particularly nice with dog tooth terrigenous calcite crystals forming the matrix with tooth lenticular siderite crystals protruding from the calcites.
