The mines around Tavistock and Gunnislake along the Devon/Cornwall county border are famous for their Siderite, but it is not always as well-crystallized as that seen at the famous Virtuous Lady mine. Wheal Crebor, just outside Tavistock, is known to have produced nice lenticular Siderite crystals, but specimens are rarely seen in collections. This nice miniature specimen with tan-coloured lenticular Siderite crystals comes from Glyn Cunnick's collection and, having been based in Plymouth, was probably collected by him.
