Well formed trigonal Siderite crystals cover a triangular area of 4 cm on edge, from the famous Tincroft mine at Pool, Carn Brea, Cornwall. The crystals typically measure 5 mm on edge and vary between translucent golden-tan and deep chocolate-brown, all nestling in a wide and shallow vug in vein Quartz. Tincroft mine is famous for its very fine Siderite specimens and this specimen displays some of the largest and finest crystals I have seen from here.
