Bipyramidal Scheelite crystals measuring to 4 mm with pinacoid faces, are scattered and clustered over a thin section of crystallised Quartz from the Cínovec /Zinnwald ore deposit in the area that straddles the German-Czech Republic border. The Scheelite ranges from translucent, lustrous chestnut brown in the larger crystals to quite gemmy, lemon-sherry in the smaller crystals. The sliver of off-cream coloured Quartz (which forms the matrix) is interesting in its own right, varying between only 1.5 and 4.5 mm thick, with each side displaying aligned crystalised surfaces which produce a silky texture and lustre. An eye-catching miniature Scheelite on Quartz from Cínovec-Zinnwald.
