This miniature Scheelite specimen is from the famous old European occurrence at Traversella, near Torino in Piedmont, Italy. Well formed crystals are rare, and on matrix even rarer. This is a cracker, a 2.3 cm wide pale creamy yellow twinned octahedral crystal perched, with other smaller crystals, upon a small piece of Chlorite matrix. The crystal has a lovely resinous lustre and displays colour zoning from pale cream on one side to yellow-orange along one edge. There is minor abrasion to the lower corners but is a very fine, and very large crystal overall.
