An absolute classic specimen of the extremely rare lead calcium manganese silicate sulphate hydroxide hydrate - Roeblingite - from the Type Locality at Parker Shaft, Franklin mine, Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA. Once described as 'like coconut', this thumbnail specimen shows you why. Massive white Roeblingite completely infills a 12 x 8 mm cavity. Roeblingite was first described in 1897, but has remarkably only be found at two mines - Franklin, and Långban in Sweden. The Roeblingite displays pinkish fluoresence under SW UV light. Rare indeed.
