The phosphate minerals of the Hagendorf pegmatites in Bavaria, Germany populate important mineral collections around the world. This specimen is a fine miniature of part of a larger botryoidal mass of Rockbridgeite, a rare iron phosphate. A dense cluster of radiating, acicular dark green Rockbridgeite crystals form a nodular solid mass with an attractive silky lustre and texture. It may look like a dull brown specimen at first glance, but once examined, is really quite beautiful.
