Rhodonite in Galena is one of the iconic mineral combinations from the mines at Broken Hill in New South Wales, Australia, and although the specific mine has not been recorded with this specimen, it is most probably from North mine. Lustrous, cherry red Rhodonite crystals pervade a matrix of bright silver Galena, with two principal Rhodonite crystals dominating the specimen. These are almost square in cross-section, measuring 3.5 x 1.2 x 0.8 cm and 1.4 x 0.5 x 0.4 cm respectively. Both these Rhodonite crystals are terminated with characteristic rounded faces. A super specimen.
