A beautiful specimen of translucent, cherry-red Rhodonite crystals richly scattered through a matrix of cryptocrystalline Galena from the classic occurrence at North mine, Broken Hill in New South Wales, Australia. The Galena has a bright, fresh metallic lustre whereas the Rhodonite appears waxy and slightly greasy. The largest of all the Rhodonite crystals sits at the crest of the Galena matrix and measures 1.5 x 1.0 x 0.6 cm with a round termination. An excellent and classic Rhodonite in Galena from Broken Hill.
