A showy small cabinet specimen of cherry-red Rhodochrosite crystals sitting on black botryoidal manganese from the Uchucchacua mine in Oyon Province, Peru. The Rhodochrosite forms equant and elongated dodecahedral crystals, both to over 1 cm across, of high translucency grading to transparent. Crystal faces are either glassy and lustrous or frosted by intricate growth patterns and display to advantage again the foil of crystallised manganese oxides. A beautiful and excellent Rhodochrosite from Peru.
