A miniature Quartz specimen, but full of character. A cluster of five Tessiner habit Quartz crystals (var. Rock Crystal) with inclusions of Chlorite at their bases. The Tessiner habit, named after the locality of Tessin in the Swiss alps, is defined by the extreme extension of the prism faces, resulting in very narrow, tapered crystals, with little to no pyramidal faces at the crystal tip. This specimen is from the Bedretto Valley in the Tessin region. It is mounted for display on a small acrylic base. The main crystal is about 5 cm in length.
