A lustrous, very dark clove-black tapering Tessin habit Smoky Quartz crystal measuring to 13.5 cm tall, from the classic locality of Crystal Peak in Teller County, Colorado. The prism gradually becomes thinner as it tapers towards the tip of its termination and over this 8.5 cm section, the prism edges slightly curve and change direction both vertically and horizontally. There is a concave sliver of Quartz missing in one face of the termination with a concave micro-conchoidal surface. This however is minor and is completely hidden when viewed from the front. The crystal sits naturally upright for display and its size makes it a prominent feature of any display.
