Rose Quartz is a strange beast. When it occurs as massive crystalline chunks it is valued only as a lapidary material of little or no collector interest. But once crystallised it takes on a different life! Often, well crystallised Rose Quartz is pale and often nondescript, but this stunning small cabinet specimen is of such a bright and vibrant rose pink, it zaps you in the face! From the Ilha Claim at Taquaral in Minas Gerais, Brazil, a roughly 4.5 x 4.5 cm dome of beautifully crystallised pink Quartz crystals form a 3.5 cm high dome with a protruding 3.8 cm long tail of Quartz crystals tinted a paler blush pink. Overgrowing the dome of Rose Quartz are several rich clove brown Eosphorite crystals, the best being an approximately 1 x 1 cm cluster of perfectly terminated crystals. This is a really lovely Rose Quartz specimen of terrific crystal form and colour.
