Margaret mine is a little-talked-of iron mine to the east of the town of Frizington in west Cumbria. Indeed, I have never come across another mineral specimen from there. This fine small cabinet specimen of classic west Cumbrian botryoidal Hematite (the variety known of as 'Kidney Ore') comes from Bill Creighton's famous collection (W.C.31). Additionally, it is partially coated in flattened red Hematite-included Quartz crystals, known as Eisenkiesel.
