This wonderful small cabinet specimen presents the classic pale pinkish-brown coloured Pyromorphite crystals for which the Bad Ems District is justifiably famous. Rather than being a small, off-matrix crystal aggregate, it is an attractive and contextually significant specimen of Pyrite and Chalcopyrite impregnated Quartz veinstone topped with finely crystallized drusy Quartz crystals. Upon this, sit sparse, tiny tarnished Chalcopyrite crystals and larger (to 1.4 cm across) sprays and parallel aggregates of very glossy pale brown prismatic Pyromorphite crystals. These Pyromorphite crystals are beautiful under magnification and although a few of the crystals are sheared off this is not instantly apparent. It makes for a really great sized display piece of this European classic.
