This 9 x 7 cm plate of zesty, bright lemon-yellow Pyromorphite crystals and acicular Cerussite crystals is equally displayable from either side, providing a delightful dilemma for the next owner! From the MMM mine at Broken Hill in Australia, what is 'officially' the display surface, acicular glassy-white Cerussite crystals to about 1.6 cm are aesthetically scattered between lemon Pyromorphite crystals to 4 mm long in the habit of regular hexagons with pinacoid terminations. The underlying matrix is sooty black Coronadite, or some similar manganese mixture, entirely covered in transparent micro-crystals of Pyromorphite which give a sparkling black contrasting background. The reverse side of this specimen has little Cerussite but a much greater coverage of Pyromorphite. A fabulous Pyromorphite with Cerussite from Broken Hill.
