Les Farges mine in Limousin, France is one of the premier world localities for Pyromorphite which occurs there in several discrete forms and colours. This stunning cabinet-sized specimen presents a sumptuous green form on white Baryte matrix, but more than the colour is its wonderful resinous lustre. The green variety of Pyromorphite from Les Farges mine never forms such large crystals as the brown but this almost organic-looking layer of clustered green hexagonal prisms really does look superb. The individual prismatic crystals reach 3 mm in length, but most are between 1 and 2 mm.
