A real old-time looking specimen of golden-tan Pyromorphite forming a single 5 x 3.5 x 3 cm globular dome build from long acicular crystals and emanating from a small matrix of mixed shale, Galena and micro-crystallized Pyrite. Over a large area of the crest of the dome, the Pyromorphite is a dull mid to light grey, giving the aged appearance. This rather pleasing, if somewhat ugly, specimen is from the historic Bad Ems mining district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany and comes with an old printed and typed German label.
