Visually, this is an extremely rich and pure aggregate of crystallized Pyromorphite of the rarest dark brown colour and glossy lustre from Friedrichssegen mine in the famous Bad Ems District - renowned amongst Pyromorphite collectors. There is some notable damage to the crystals but at large miniature in size this is a surprisingly large and rich aggregate of Pyromorphite from this iconic mine. The crystals are typical of others of this dark brown colour: sheaf-like and forming complex 'stepped' prisms with ragged multiple terminations rather than sharp edged individual hexagonal prismatic crystals. Most of the crystals are between 6 and 7 mm in length.
