This very distinctive small cabinet-sized specimen of Pyromorphite is an old one, as determined by its fragile accompanying German handwritten label, using the very old term "Grunbleierz". Determined by the previous owners to be from Neue Hoffnung mine, the original label simply states "Siegen" which is in Arnsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The Pyromorphite crystals are an unusual orange colour and form long (up to 7 mm) hexagonal prisms on a contrasting massive white matrix - possibly Quartz. In overall fine condition. It is from the superb German collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
