The mining area at Zschopau in Erzgebirge, Saxony, is the type locality for Pyromorphite. This fine thumbnail consists of six principal crystals all emanating from a common point and forming a three-dimensional radial spray with the largest crystal measuring 2.0 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm. The Pyromorphite forms translucent yellowish lime-green crystals, some slightly barrel-shaped, with flat terminations with a preferential white powdery coating. A nice example of Pyromorphite from its type locality in Germany.
