A lovely small miniature of the silver sulphosalt Pyrargyrite forming flattened trigonal gunmetal-grey crystals appearing as hexagons to 2 cm across. From Alberoda in the Schlema-Hartenstein District of Saxony, Germany, close study reveals the crystals are composed of complex herring-bone and granular structures, some displaying Pyrargyrite's characteristic ruby-red in transmitted light. An excellent and showy specimen mounted on a colourless acrylic base and with two old labels.
