For the rare species enthusiast comes this 3.2 cm diameter polished section (polished mount) prepared for reflected light microscopy or analytical study using an SEM. Within it is embedded a piece of metallic sulphide from Noril'sk, Putoran Plateau, Taimyr Peninsula, Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia containing Putoranite, Mooihoekite and Cubanite. As the name suggests, the Putoran Plateau is the Type Locality for Putoranite, which is an extremely rare copper iron sulphide, chemically similar to Chalcopyrite but structurally different (isometric).
