Deep lemon yellow spheroidal crystal aggregates of Prehnite richly encrust a lustrous Quartz matrix. This beautiful translucent Prehnite is from the Merelani Hills in the Manyara Region of Tanzania and forms elongated spherical clusters to over 2 cm across with a superb glassy lustre. The accompanying video shows this specimen in white LED light and ultraviolet light. The fluorescence is ghostly, with pale ghoulish greens and ethereal whites, the latter intensifying in later generation Prehnite prism with a more hexagonal habit. This is a lovely example of Prehnite from the Tanzanite gem mines, one of outstanding colour and a real eye-catcher.
