Splendid, gemmy cubic Pharmacosiderite crystals of vibrant, deep to medium apple and leaf green pervade a cellular, naturally etched Quartz veinstone matrix from St. Day United Mine at St. Day, Gwennap, just east of Redruth in Cornwall. The name St Day United Mines was given to Poldice mine and Carharrack mine following an amalgamation in 1852. Pharmacosiderite, a hydrated basic ferric arsenate, forms crystals up to 1 mm on edge. This may not sound very big, they are in fact magnificent in their densely packed druses. This is a might fine specimen from this world famous Cornish mining district and very good value at $250.
